The Medical Director is available for consultation with the patient’s doctors and to the nurses providing hands-on care. S/he has the overall responsibility for the medical component of the patient care. With such help, we can assure the continuity of hospice medical services and assuring appropriate measures to control patients’ symptoms and enhance their comfort and quality of life. The hospice Medical Director provides medical oversight and direction to the hospice program. The oversight is complemented by an attending physician acting as a medical resource to the hospice group.
